|
Sue worked as the Trusts and Institutional Donors Manager at The Alzheimer's Society for two years. She left the Society for an 18-month round-the-world honeymoon! Sue’s replacement at the Society resigned shortly after her return to the UK and she was asked to ‘hold-the-fort’ on a consultancy basis whilst the Society recruited another trusts manager. Throughout this time Sue was responsible for managing existing trust relationships as well as approaching new trusts for the Society's plethora of new projects. A new Trusts Manager was recruited and Sue was asked to undertake a review of the section with recommendations as to future changes. Many of the recommendations were implemented. To this date, Sue has continued to work as a consultant for the Society, undertaking specific pieces of work. More recently her focus has been on drafting applications to secure funds for the Alzheimer’s Society research programme, ‘Quality Research in Dementia’. During her time as a consultant for the Society Sue has drafted successful applications to the Department of Health, The Community Fund, Comic Relief and a whole raft of other UK trusts and foundations. In the previous financial year, Sue cost the Alzheimer's Society 5.8% as a percentage of income raised.* * This figure relates solely to funds raised from new sources and does not include work undertaken with warm donors |
